This test method is utilised to evaluate the antiperspirant efficacy of a test substance, post-application at different time intervals, after a single application. Various absorption pads are applied to the volunteer and the absorption of sweat is measured gravimetrically at specific time intervals (T24Hrs and T48Hrs after application). In order to conduct an effective efficacy study, a wash out or abstinence phase is extremely important during this study. Antiperspirant efficacy testing is performed in accordance with Par 350.60 (21 CFR 350.60) of the final monograph (final rule) for OTC anti-perspirant drug products, published in the FEDERAL REGISTER on June 9, 2003 of the US, Food and Drugs Administration (FDA).
