Skin pH Testing

This test method involves the measurement of the skin pH on various test sites of the body. Measurements can be performed at various time intervals and compared to different test sites.

The measurement principle of skin pH is based on a high quality combined electrode, where a H+ ion sensitive glass electrode and as well as an additional reference electrode are placed into one housing. It is connected to a probe handle containing the measurement electronics. The pH of skin is weakly acidic, therefore the ideal products to use on your skin should have a similar pH. Bearing in mind that a pH of 7 is neutral, with a higher reading being alkaline, and a lower reading being acidic.
